We will be rounding off this year’s Prepare for Glory with Jorn Rohde. You might not know his name yet, but you will definitely recognise his face!
As co-host of the television programme Galileo, Jorn has already featured regularly on RTL 5 for two seasons. Science, tests and experiments are at the heart of this show (originally created in Germany) and Jorn goes in search of answers to some crazy questions.
Jorn had been working in the media business for quite a while before he started his career as a TV presenter. During his full-time job at RTL Concepts, he gained extensive knowledge about the media world and learned plenty of life lessons. After he was picked out from behind his desk to continue his career in front of the camera, he made the decision to turn his back on the elements of certainty in his life. He chose to ‘live precariously’ as a freelance presenter.
Thanks to his curious nature and enquiring mind, there was an immediate click between Jorn and the Galileo programme. He finds it extremely interesting to continuously explore things and find answers to questions with the help of experts, especially since he doesn’t consider himself an expert in anything.
“I'm not an expert in anything.”
Pushing boundaries is part of Jorn’s character. That’s precisely why, without a moment’s hesitation, he agreed to eat nothing but chips for a whole month, supplemented with vitamin pills to find out whether those really work. One of Jorn’s dreams is to present a travel show - then he can literally transcend his boundaries.
Jorn is a young man who really cares about his appearance, and he always wants to look good. He tries to look nice and presentable, and he is great lover of sneakers. Since appearing on TV he is recognised more often in the pub, mainly by the ladies. That doesn’t necessarily make Jorn vainer, but he is more conscious of his appearance and how he comes across.
In our eyes, Jorn is a true hero who is on the path to success. With such an excellent start on TV, we expect to hear a lot from Jorn in the future and look forward to seeing him perform more ground-breaking experiments. Keep it up!
